KAHLIL GIBRAN: The Prophet from Lebanon

Lebanese and American poet and painter Kahlil Gibran is regarded in the Middle East as a major 20th Century writer. Among Western critics, his work is considerably more controversial. But his masterpiece The Prophet has been continuously in print for more than a century now. It has sold more than 100 million copies, has been translated into more than 100 languages, and has a wide and devoted following.

Documentary filmmaker Mark Woodcock--many of you will remember our screening of his film Iran: Outside In--has created a new biographical film exploring Gibran's life and work, and will be hosting a special private screening of the film for the Autumn Garden Society on the Upper West Side --you'll get the exact address with your ticket when you register for the event.

No tickets will be sold at the door. If you're a dues-paying member of the Autumn Garden Society, make sure you LOG IN before you order your tickets, in order to get the reduced Members' price--just $7 per ticket! The space where we're doing this is very small, so we expect this screening to sell out quickly and we strongly recommend registering early.

The event will begin at 6:30 pm with a WINE AND HORS D'OEUVRES RECEPTION, with the film screening and discussion starting at 7 pm.
