IRAN: Outside In

Iran is in the news. But few Americans have actually visited Iran, or have even a superficial impression of the country, its varied peoples, sights and cities, and its 6,000 years of continuous history. Iran: Outside In takes viewers on a road trip across the Islamic Republic from Tehran and Tabriz in the north to Kerman, Yazd, Shiraz and Isfahan in the south, with a side trip to Persepolis. Documentary filmmaker Mark Woodcock joined the first Harvard Alumni tour to that country in May, 2015, a tour led by diplomat and scholar Peter W. Galbraith. Although Mark had no intention of making a film of his trip at the time, he did bring along his camera--and he soon realized that he had the material for a professional cinéma-vérité documentary.

The screening will be in Mark's living room on the Upper West Side--you'll get the exact address only after you register for the event. Advance registration is REQUIRED. No tickets will be sold at the door. The event will begin at 6:30 pm with a WINE AND HORS D'OEUVRES RECEPTION, with the film screening and discussion starting at 7 pm.
